Welcome!

On The Waldessori Mom, I want to share my insights on parenting, Waldorf, and Montessori by giving practical tips and fun activities, but also talk about my experiences raising my two children from a personal stand point. As a previous military spouse, I know what it’s like to not have a village around to help with the kids. I had to do a lot of research and trial and error before I found how to make my day to day work as a stay at home mom with little support outside of my husband. I combined that with my experience as a teacher to structure the day with my son and come up with developmentally appropriate, exciting, and bonding experiences for us.

I’d like to help others that may or may not have village by building a community of parents and hear about their experiences as well in the comments or by email! My passion is helping people, whether it’s littles or adults (or the occasional stray dog).

Embrace childhood.

More and more I find that children are sucked into the world of the iPad and it saddens me to see the loss of childhood. This is the only chance in a child’s life where they can really use their imaginations freely before the burdens of growing up sets in. I love to see my son’s imagination in action every day as he figures out how things work and new ways he can use them. We also focus on going outdoors as often as possible. He finds enjoyment in the simple things!
